NH STRATHAM — Cemetery boards advance cy pres petition to free restricted maintenance funds. The Cemetery Trustees and Trustees of the Trust Funds met July 10 to discuss transferring earned income from the Cemetery Perpetual Care (CPC) fund to the Cemetery Expendable Maintenance Trust Fund (CEMTF), enabling flexible deployment for cemetery-wide projects. CPC funds are statutorily restricted to plot-specific maintenance; tree removal, road maintenance, and drainage work have historically required town general fund subsidies.

Cemetery Trustee June Sawyer and the group identified four data-collection tasks to support the petition and plan to engage Town Counsel for drafting once information is compiled.
