NH STRATHAM — Stratham Energy Commission plans to present power-supply alternatives to the Select Board. Commission member Michael Welty is coordinating on multiple fronts: following up with Parks and Recreation on a community education session, overseeing energy conservation at Stratham Memorial School, and reviewing municipal solar tracking. The commission discussed rising electricity costs affecting the Community Power Coalition of New Hampshire following a purchasing decision by its new CEO in May 2024 that depleted reserves; CPCNH is raising rates to rebuild.
The commission will present options to the Select Board, including customer education and potentially switching to an alternative supplier.
