NH STRATHAM — Stratham Select Board held a Fire Department budget workshop exploring staffing scenarios for 24/7 medical coverage. Fire Chief Jeff Denton presented multiple options combining per-diem employees, call force personnel, and full-time staff. Board Chair Allison Knab and Vice Chair Joe Anderson reviewed call force participation data showing that one member accounted for roughly 76 percent of overnight responses; approximately three members handle the majority of overnight calls.
A full-time Fire Chief position was discussed but was not anticipated until at least the 2028 budget year; the Board agreed to continue refining staffing and budget scenarios.
