NH STRATHAM — The Stratham Select Board unanimously approved a $1.6 million grant-funded project to replace aging culverts on Squamscott Road. The board backed the New Hampshire Department of Transportation's plan to replace two 18-inch culverts, with the work funded by grants from the Nature Conservancy and other environmental partners. The fall 2026 closure is scheduled with intermediate completion November 20 and final paving spring 2027.
Fire Chief Jeff Denton noted concerns about emergency response impacts during the road closure. The board also approved support for an Eagle Scout bridge project and accepted a $39,585.50 donation from the Stratham Volunteer Fire Department Association for two portable medical ventilation units.
