NH STRATHAM — Stratham's Select Board authorized $26,000 from its golf fund to replace the police department's SIG P320 sidearms with Walther PDPs. Police Chief Anthony King and Sergeant Michael Doucette cited officer safety concerns, noting the P320 has been associated with uncommanded discharges and design defects since Stratham's adoption in 2020. The authorization covers purchase of 14 to 15 pistols to equip 13 full-time officers and spares.
Vice Chair Joe Anderson and Member Tedd Tramaloni joined Chair Allison Knab in voting for the expenditure. The Board also unanimously approved the revised Stratham Hill Park Association Committee charge, the Mailbox Damage Replacement Policy, two event permits, and appointed Jameson Paine to the Planning Board for a one-year term.
