NH STRATHAM — The Zoning Board of Adjustment voted 3-1 to deny a variance that would have allowed the Cates Living Trust to subdivide their 9.28-acre Winnicutt Road property into two 37.5-foot frontage lots, where 200 feet is required. Lucy Cushman, Brent Eastwood, and Donna Jensen voted for denial, citing concerns about neighborhood precedent, privacy loss, and traffic impacts; Chair Drew Pierce dissented. In a separate matter, the board unanimously approved a variance for Steven and Amy Houle to construct an eight-foot fence 20 feet from Bunker Hill Road, where 30 feet is required, with conditions limiting it to the road frontage.
Resident Matthew Malone, who testified at the Cates hearing, has applied for full ZBA membership.
